These figures cannot be considered really satisfactory since
nothing less than 100% vaccination of the babies is required to impart
a really useful protection to the community. However, the figure
is considerably higher than in most other parts of the country and
has increased compared to previous years.

Figures in the above table are school children treated for verminous
conditions at the School Clinic, Windham Road and Back Lane,
Ham.
The incidence of scabies is now at a very low level and is no
longer a problem in the district. The 98 cases of louse infestation
are school children who are well known to the School Nurses. They
are cleansed under supervision and parents are given full instructions
on how to prevent a recurrence. However, this advice is frequently
