PROSECUTIONS.
No legal proceedings were taken during the year. In two cases
it was found necessary to apply for summonses but, in each case the
owners carried out the work before the date of the Court hearing.
COMPLAINTS.
The number of complaints received by the Department from the
1st January to 31st December, 1949 was 1,010 which is an increase
over the same period in 1948 of 164.
The complaints received have been classified as follows:—
