TUBERCULOSIS REGISTER
After all additions and deletions had been taken into account,
the number of cases of tuberculosis remaining upon the Register
at the close of the year was as under:—

Total 293 50
Corresponding figures for 1945 were 269 50
PREVENTION OF TUBERCULOSIS
Under the Public Health (Prevention of Tuberculosis)
Regulations 1925, powers are given to prohibit any person
suffering from respiratory tuberculosis from entering upon
employment involving the handling of milk.
Under the Public Health Act 1936 (Section 172) powers are
given to cause the removal and detention of any tubercular patient
where proper precautions are not being taken and the circumstances
are such as could constitute a danger to others..
During the year 1946 it was not found necessary to take action
under either of the above enactments.
