HEALTH VISITORS
The Borough employed five State Registered Nurses, all
possessing the New Health Visitors' Certificate, who act for
one half of their time as Health Visitors and for the remainder
as School Nurses.
In addition to their indoor duties in connection with the various clinics, during the year 1946 the Health Visitors paid a total of 4,254 visits, as under:—

During the year authority was obtained to increase the
establishment of Health Visitors for all purposes to six, and to
appoint one of the six to the position of Senior Health Visitor.
The latter appointment was made in September when Miss E. D.
Steuart was promoted to the position, but it was not found
possible to complete the establishment until the close of the year.
