the Royal Hospital, Richmond. This was a minor matter as very few
cases were seen requiring operation.
The Tables at the end of the Report have to be sent to the
Board by 1st February and this year the Board asked that Table II.B
should only include the figures from 1st January to 31st August"
"partly because routine medical inspection has been to a large extent
suspended during that period."
As I have mentioned there has been practically no break as
far as this Borough is concerned and in this Report therefore I have
given the figures of Table II.B as submitted to the Board, viz., from
January to August inclusive and I have also given the figures for the
whole year.
During 1939 the Committee considered the provision of free
milk for certain children and approval of the scheme has now been
given by the Board. Figures relating to this arrangement will be
given in the Report for 1940.
Two members of the staff are on active service. Miss J. D.
Law, R.R.C., one of the School Nurses, was called up in connection
with Queen Alexandra's Nursing Service. A temporary School
Nurse and Health Visitor (Miss Mortimer) has been engaged in her
place.
Miss M. D. Banks, the Dental Assistant and Clerk, joined the
Land Army and her place has been filled temporarily by Miss J.
Ayland.
