(Signed) George Laws, f.r.san.i., f.s.i.a.
Chief Sanitary Inspector,
and Officer under the
Housing Acts.
SECTION E.
INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD.
Agriculture Act, 1937: Transfer of Veterinary Services.
The services of the Veterinary Inspector appointed by the
Corporation were determined on the 31st May, 1938, in consequence
of the transfer to the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the
veterinary services of Local Authorities under the above Act.
Notwitstanding this transfer Local Authorities still retained
powers and duties (of a non-veterinary character) under the Diseases
of Animals Acts, 1894 to 1937, and the Council therefore decided
that the Chief Sanitary Inspector be appointed as Inspector (other
than veterinary) of the Council as from the 31st May, 1938, for
the execution and enforcement of the Diseases of Animals Acts and
the Orders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries made thereunder.
