feature of the table is the results of the Schick tests carried out in
children immunised two years ago. The proportion of those due
for re-test who have attended is fairly high, and the number who
remain immune after this period is very good indeed. Attention
should be drawn to the small percentage of children who have been
found to be naturally immune, as this indicates that the level of
immunity in those children who have not been seen at the Clinic is
so low that, for practical purposes, all children in the Borough who
have not been artificially immunised can be regarded as susceptible.
Further efforts are being made to bring the importance of
immunisation to the notice of the parents of these children.
There have been no cases of Diphtheria during the year in
children to whom certificates have been given. One case occurred
in a girl who had just completed the third injection, and another in
a boy who was due for re-test. Neither case was seriously ill.
