Swimming Baths and Pools.
There are no privately owned swimming baths or pools in the
Borough, the district at present being served by the Public Baths
which are under the control of the Baths Superintendent, who has
supplied the following particulars :—
No of bathers during the year—Males: 52,845
Females : 33,888
A Constant Filtration Plant is installed which provides for a
turn-over of the water every four hours. The water is thereby
Filtered, Chlorinated and Aerated, and frequent Tests each day
show a free Chlorine content of from .2 to .5. Samples sent for
Bacteriological examination have always resulted in a very satisfactory
report.
