Individual Unfit Houses—Section 19, Housing Act, 1930.
The following individual unfit houses were demolished as a
result of action taken by the Authority during the year:—
17/21, Worple Way.
18 and 18a, Parkshot.
Housing Inspections. Power of Local Authority to require
repair of insanitary houses.
Systematic house to house inspections have been carried out
during the year in accordance with the Housing Act, and all
dwellings occupied by the working classes, or of a type suitable
for occupation by the working classes, found in any respect unfit
for human habitation, have been the subject of notice to repair
or recondition same, when reported upon as being found capable
of repair at reasonable expense. 1,350 dwelling houses were
inspected for housing defects (under the Public Health or
Housing Acts), and 222 of such dwellings were examined and
particulars recorded under the Housing Regulations.
