Stable Premises.
There are 36 premises on the register, and these have all been
systematically inspected during the year, strict attention being
given to the provision of efficient receptacles for the storage of
manure, and the prompt and frequent removal of all manure from
the premises in order to minimise the risk of nuisance from flies.
Rats and Mice Destruction Act.
The provisions of this Act have been enforced during the
year. Sixty complaints were received, and in ten instances
"preliminary" intimations have been served upon the owners
and occupiers of premises to eradicate "rodents" and render
the premises rat proof.
School Sanitation.
A routine sanitary survey of all the twelve elementarv
schools, one special school and two secondary schools with regard
to the condition of the school sanitary fittings was made during the
year. There is only one school in the Borough containing the
latrine or trough type 0f closet, all the others having been altered
during the previous year. The attention of the Managers of this
school has been drawn to the need for conversion and the installation
of up-to-date school sanitary fittings and I anticipate
this will be put in hand at an early date. All the other school
premises are in a satisfactory condition,
