INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD
Milk Supply
The milk supply is from several large firms with dairy premises
outside the Borough boundaries and mainly pasteurised. Thirteen
samples of milk were analysed during the year and all were certified
to be genuine.
The Milk (Special Designation) Regulations, 1960
Under the above Regulations, which came into operation on 1st
October, 1960, the new Dealer's Licence will be valid for five years
from 1st January, 1961, and will thereafter be renewable for further
five-year periods.
The following list shows the licences granted for the current
five-year period for the sale of milk under the special designations
as provided by the above Regulations

Food and Drugs Authority
The Council is the Food and Drugs Authority for the district and
during the year samples approximating in number to two per thousand
of the population were taken and submitted to the joint Public
Analysts.
Public Analysts
Dr. J.H. Hamence, F„R.I.C., 20, Eastcheap, London, E.C.3. and
Mr. P.S. Hall, F.R.I.C., 20 Eastcheap, London, E.C.3. are the Joint
Public Analysts for the area.
Samples submitted for Analysis
108 samples of food and drugs were submitted for analysis, 56
formal and 52 informal, of which 4 were unsatisfactory.
