attention: so far, I have not had to invoke these powers as I was able
to persuade the more urgent cases to enter hospital voluntarily. In the
other instances the provision of a Home Help met the situation as a
temporary measure.
During the year several lectures and film shows dealing with Clean
Food were given to organised associations.
I am much indebted to the Chairman and Members of the Health
Committee for their support and co-operation during the year and to the
Area Medical Officer for the statistical information in regard to those
services provided by the Essex County Council. To the Chief Sanitary
Inspector, Mr. J.F. Rogers, and the Staff of the Health Department I
tender my sincere thanks for their hard work and assistance during
the year,
I am, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
J.H. CROSBY,
Medical Officer of Health.
July, 1952.
