in the various streets, and a car with trailer attached was used
for the collection of the waste food. With overhead charges
amounting to £700, it was, of course, impossible for the scheme
to be a financial success, but there is no doubt that the quantity
of pig food sold could be justified in relation to the country's needs.
The weighbridge was maintained under contract, and the fees
received during the year amounted to £42 14s. 6d., representing
1,709 weighings, as against £40 19s. 0d., representing 1,638
weighings in the previous year.
The sums received during the year for the removal of Trade
Refuse amounted to £78, a decrease of £35 of the amount
collected in the previous year. This decrease is due to the
collection of Trade Refuse free of charge in cases where this had
a salvage value.
