Reviewing Diphtheria Immunisation in Chingford, it is extremely
disappointing to find how few parents avail themselves of the
opportunity offered by the Council of free immunisation, or the
supply of free immunising material to private practitioners, and thus
having their children protected against this disease. It is strongly
urged, especially under war conditions, that parents will in future
have their children immunised against Diphtheria.
The total number of protected children in Chingford is 2,777,
which is equivalent to 33% of the child population. Until this
percentage reaches 5 060 of the child population, the incidence of
Diphtheria cannot be affected to any appreciable extent.
