i(a) Laboratory Facilities.

(b) Ambulance Facilities.
No change.
The following is a summary of the work performed by the
Council's two ambulances during 1937.

Thirty-five calls were undertaken by the St. John's
Ambulance Brigade.
(c) Nursing in the Home.
No change.
(d) Clinics and Treatment Centres.
An additional Child Welfare Centre was opened by the
County Council in November at the Mission Hall, Sewardstone
Road, North Chingford.
(e) Hospitals.
Since July, in addition to other infectious diseases, cases of
Puerperal Pyrexia and Ophthalmia Neonatorum have, when
necessary, been admitted to the Waltham Isolation Hospital.
(f) Midwives.
One midwife was appointed by the County Council in
October for domiciliary service in the district. This brings the
total number of practising midwives in the area to nine.
(g) Nursing Homes.
There are three registered Nursing Homes in the district.
