clerical staff who have sacrificed themselves unstintingly in your
service. Dr. Wilkinson and I have been heavily beset with the
great pressure constantly upon us in the management not only of
your environmental health services but also of the huge volume and
case load of personal health services which we carry. We need all
the help and support we can get Mr. Mayor from you and your colleagues
in the committees of the Council. The Chairman and members of the
Public Health Committee have constantly supported me and have
granted every request I have made to them; I acknowledge my indebtedness
to them for their helpfulness. I desire also to acknowledge
with thanks the friendly co-operation and help which I have always
received from my colleagues in other departments of the Corporation.
I am,
Mr. Mayor, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Yours sincerely,
JOHN MADDISON,
Medical Officer of Health.
