[Report of the Medical Officer of Health for Twickenham]

Twickenham and Teddington every %. hours and that at Hampton every
4 hours.
During the 1960 season 36 samples were taken for bacteriological
examination. 34 of these proved satisfactory and 2 unsatisfactory.
The 2 unsatisfactory water samples were taken from Teddington
Baths in June and the chlorination dosage was increased immediately.
Further samples were taken from this bath and were found to be
satisfactory.
Sports Arena.
Work in connection with the construction of a sports arena at
Craneford Way providing a 7-lane running track and all normal field
events together with a football pitch will be completed during 1951.
Laboratory Work

The usual arrangements continued during the year and worked satisfactorily.

It was not necessary during 1980 to remove to suitable premises
any person who was in need of care and attention.
Health Education
Continued use was made of various health education methods,
including propaganda by posters, leaflets and lectures illustrated
by films and film strips.
The Corporation made a contribution of £14.6.0. to the Central
Council for Health Education during the year.
Mortuary
The number of bodies admitted to the Mortuary during the year
was 520.
It had been the custom for vehicles going to and from the
Mortuary to use the entrance in Beards Hill, which is a narrow
cul-de-sac.
There must of necessity have been a certain amount of
disturbance to people in this street and on my advice the
Corporation decided to discontinue the use of this entrance and
