Smallpox
No case of smallpox was notified during the year. Eight
contacts were kept under observation by the Department.
Pneumonia, Malaria and Dysentery.
Pneumonia.
There were 60 cases of pneumonia notified during the year,
a decrease of four on 1946. Deaths numbered 66.
Malaria.
Two cases of malaria were notified during the year, one of
which was treated in hospital. Both cases were contracted
abroad.
