MATERNAL MORTALITY.
Two deaths were registered as being due to diseases or
accidents of child-birth as compared with one death. for the
previous year. Tho causes of death were:-
1. la.Internal haemorrhage. b. Ruptured Ectopic Gestation.
2. la.Paralytic Ileus. b. Infective Endocarditis following
caesarean section.
A full enquiry is mode into tho cause of every maternal death.
The maternal mortality rate per 1,000 total (live and
still) births was 0.998. That for England and Wales was 1.43
