RATS AND MICE (DESTRUCTION) ACT.1919.
INFESTATION ORDER.1943.
There are four Rodent Operatives and one Rodent Officer
employed under the general direction of the Chief Sanitary
Inspector on the work of Rodent Destruction.
During 1946, 14,48l visits were made to premises
within the Borough and of this total, initial visits following
upon complaint or resulting from surveys numbered 6,339, the
remaining 8,142 visits comprising re-inspections in connection
with laying of baits, poisoning and trapping.
The success of the now scheme enabling occupiers to
enter into contract with the Corporation for rodent destruction
may be judged by the following' summary, there being 370 contracts
made and income received amounting to £912.19s.lOd.
It was found necessary to serve 148 Preliminary
Notices, 39, Statutory Notice's and 1 Final Statutory Notice.
