POST-GRADUATE EDUCATION
The Summer Schools Tooth for Health Visitors and Midwives
were cancelled owing to the prevailing conditions. Five Health
Visitors attended a course on psychology, organised by the
Provisional National Council for Mental Health, and the midwives
attended a post-graduate course at the County Hall.

INFANT WELFARE CLINICS

There are five infant welfare clinics; ten sessions for infant consultation are held weekly, and one breast feeding clinic.

DENTAL TREATMENT OF CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS

OPHTHALMIC TREATMENT OF CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS
During the year, the number of children under 5 years
of age examined by the Ophthalmic Surgeon was:-

MILK AND OTHER FOODS. ETC.
During the year, 42 applications for assisted supplies
of dried milk and other foods were granted in necessitous cases and
supplied free of charge. The total cost of goods supplied was
£25. 9. 5d.
CHILD LIFE PROTECTION
There were a few instances where foster mothers failed
to send proper notice of reception or removal of a foster child.
All the Health Visitors are appointed Child Life
Protection Visitors, and each visitor is responsible for carrying
out the supervision of the foster homes in her own district. The
number of visits paid to foster children during the year was 792.
