A largo part of this increase is duo to the work of
the Council's Municipal Midwives.
Certain foods were supplied to expectant mothers for
whom special treatment was considered necessary; no charge
was made for these supplies in necessitous cases.
No request for the services of a consultant was made
during the year.

the year. Eight patients were admitted to the West Middlesex
County Hospital; nine were treated in nursing homes; and one

No application was received during the year for the
services of a consultant in any case of puerperal pyrexia.

clinics, and mothers are urged to attend. The numbers of
mothers who attended were:-

This York is progressing well, and Health. Visitors
and Midwives are of great help in persuading mothers to attend
