TUBERCULOSIS
The number of new cases of tuberculosis notified during
1942 was 130 as compared with 141 for the previous year. The
number of deaths recorded from this disease was 59, which showed
a' slight decrease (61 in 1941).

Public Health (Prevention of Tuberculosis) Regulations, 1925
During the year under review it was not found
necessary to take action under the above Regulations with,
reference to persons suffering from tuberculosis and employed
in the milk trade.
Public Health Act, 1936 (section 172)
This section of the Public Health Act is concerned
with the compulsory removal to hospital of persons suffering
from tuberculosis. It was not found necessary to exercise our
powers thereunder during the year.
PREVENTION OP BLINDNESS
No action was taken during the year under Section 176 of
the Public Health Act,1936, for the prevention of blindness or for
the treatment of persons suffering from any disease or injury to
the eyes.
