Malaria; Dysentery. No cases of malaria or dysentery were
notified during the year.
Acute Poliomyelitis, Acute Polio-encephalitis
One case of acute poliomyelitis was notified due
the year. There were no deaths.

Puerperal Pyrexia
Nine cases of puerperal pyrexia were notified during
the year. Three wore treated in the West Middlesex Hospital.
Enteric Fever
Seven cases of paratyphoid were notified, all of
which were admitted to hospital. There was no evidence
suggesting milk or water supplies as source of infection.
Typhoid Imrnunization. Facilities were provided at
the school clinics for immunization against Typhoid for those
members of the public desiring to avail themselves thereof.
At the end of the year 956 people had boon immunized. The
total attendances at the clinics numbered 1968.
Cerebro-spinal fever
Sixteen cases of cerebro-spinal fever were notified
during the year. There were two deaths.
Measles and Whooping Cough. During the year 292 cases of
measles were notified, as compared with 956 for the previous
year. There wore two deaths.
Whooping cough became prevalent during the year, 326
cases being notified as compared with 46 for the previous year.
The peak period was the month of June, when 68 cases were
notified. Seven deaths were recorded from the disease.
(b) NON-NOTIFIABLE INFECTIOUS DISEASES
During the year information was received from the
Head Teachers and otherwise regarding 79 cases of mumps and
22 cases of chickenpox.
TUBERCULOSIS
The number of new cases of tuberculosis notified
during 1941 was 141 as compared with 126 for the previous year
The number of deaths recorded from this disease was 61. The
following table prepared from the records in the Department
summarises the position.
