SANITARY ADMINISTRATION
WATER SUPPLY
The Metropolitan Water Board, maintained a constant and
satisfactory water supply throughout the Borough. There
are' very few wells, practically every house deriving its
water supply from, the Board.
DRAINAC-E AMD SEWERAGE
The sewage, for the whole of the Borough is conveyed to the
Mogden Disposal Works ofthe Middlesex County Council for
treatment.
RIVERS AND STREAMS
No complaints of pollution of the river Thames or streams
were received by the Department during the year.
PUBLIC CLEANSING
As the scheme submitted to the Ministry of Health for
an enlarged Destructor did not receive approval owing to the
War, the three Destructors situate at Twickenham, Teddington
and Hampton, were still in use and were able to dispose of
the refuse collected, the quantity having greatly diminished
owing to the recovery of salvageable materials.
