INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OP POOD.
Milk Supply.
During the year, 191 visits were made "by the
Sanitary Inspectors to dairies, cowsheds and milkshops
within the Borough.
Milk (Special Designations) Orders, 1936 & 1938.
The following applications for sale of designated milk
were granted during the year:-
"Tuberculin tested" milk . 17
Accredited 1
"Pasteurised" milk 29
Meat and Other Poods.
During the year, 10,527 animals were slaughtered for
human consumption within the Borough, every one of which was
inspected by the Sanitary Inspectors. This work entails very
long and irregular hours, and constant watchfulness is necessary
to ensure to the inhabitants a pure and wholesome
food supply.
