Petroleum Acts.
The Sanitary Inspectors are appointed Inspectors under the Petroleum Acts, and supervise
the stores where petroleum spirit and carbide of calcium are kept.
Fifty-four licences to keep petroleum spirit were issued. Of these, nine were for the
storage of petrol in cans, six for storage of petrol in tanks, and a small supply in cans, the
remainder being for storage in underground tanks only.
Five licences were granted for the keeping of carbide of calcium.
The number of visits paid by the Inspectors in connection with these premises was 197.
