The manufacturers of the product were informed of the Analyst's report
and that the labelling of their product contravened the Preservatives in Food
Regulations, 1962. No further action was taken in respect of this sample.
Sample No. 415—Packet of Onion Sauce.
'The ingredients of this article are specified on the label as dry onion,
wheat flour, salt, liquid seasoning and hydrolised protein'.
'Liquid seasoning is a generic and not a specific name or description and
is not in accordance with the requirements of the Labelling of Food Order,
1953'.
No action was taken in respect of this sample.

Where quantities are insufficient for salvage all unsound food is collected and disposed of at the Council's Refuse Transfer Station and subsequently buried on a controlled tip.
