The total number of premises visited by the Sanitary Inspectors
under the various Acts, etc.,in operation was 1,162, the total number of
visits paid being 3,857. Particulars of visits made in connection with
overcrowding and other visits not included in Table 1 are as follows:—
Overcrowding, 133 ; visits in relation to the management of Council
houses, 261.
In addition to the above work undertaken by the Sanitary
Inspectors, the Disinfecting Officer visited 67 premises for the
purpose of disinfection after cases of infectious disease, and he carried
out the disinfestation of 27 verminous premises. He was also
engaged in the following work in connection with drainage:—Drain
testing, 12; cleansed, 2; opened-up, 29.
Legal Proceedings.
It was not found necessary to institute legal proceedings during
1939.
