As to Rooms.— The procedure adopted in disinfecting
rooms is as follows: In all cases the room occupied by the
patient is sealed and fumigated with Formalin. In cases
which have been treated at home, and in others kept at home
for some days before removal to the Hospital, the fumigation
is followed by scraping and stripping of all paper from the
walls. This is not done, as a rule, when the patient is removed
to the Hospital within a day or so of the commencement of
the illness.
As to Articles of Clothing.— The clothing, bedding,
curtains, and all infected articles which can be removed are
taken to be disinfected in the Thresh's apparatus at the
Hospital.
