SECTION C
SANITARY CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE AREA
Water Supply
The Director of Water Examination, Metropolitan Water Board has
supplied me with the following information:—
The water supplied to the Borough of Wanstead and Woodford has
been satisfactory both in quantity and quality during the year 1963.
The Borough is supplied mostly with River Lee-derived water from
the Lee Bridge works, but there is a small amount of additional water
from Wanstead, Ferry Lane and Chingford wells from time to time. The
analytical results of the waters passing into supply from these sources
were satisfactory.
No new sources of supply have been instituted, nor have there been
any important extensions to trunk mains, nor were there any changes
in the general scheme of supply to the area during the year, but new
service mains were laid in the Borough to the extent of 306 yards.
