SECTION C
SANITARY CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE AREA
Water Supply
The Director of Water Examination, Metropolitan Water Board has
supplied me with the following information:—
The water supplied to the Borough of Wanstead and Woodford has
been satisfactory both in quantity and quality during the year 1962.
The Borough is supplied mostly with River Lec-derived water from
Lee Bridge works, but there is a small amount of additional water
from the Wanstead, Ferry Lane and Chingford wells from time to time.
The analytical results of the waters passing into supply from these
sources were satisfactory.
No new sources of supply have been instituted nor have there been
any important extensions to trunk mains, and there were no changes in
the general scheme of supply to the area during the year, but new
mains were laid in the Borough to the extent of 475 yards.
