In view of increased duties due to work in connection with the
Clean Air Act the establishment of the Public Health Inspectors was
increased by one and an appointment made, the Inspector commencing
duty in September.
The Deputy Chief Public Health Inspector, Mr. J. T. S.
Templeman, was designated Smoke Control Officer.
I am grateful to the Chief Public Health Inspector and all members
of the Staff of the Department for the work they have carried out
during the year.
My sincere thanks are due to the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and
members of the Public Health Committee for the support they have
given me.
