Case against assistant pending.
A packet of sherbet brought to the office in the nature of a complaint
by a member of the public caused the Public Analyst to report
that it contained foreign matter in the form of a yellowish-brown
tablet and two portions of similar tablets. His investigation showed
that the tablet contained substances similar to those in tablets recommended
for the treatment of tuberculosis.
The complainant when seen agreed that tablets similar to those
described were being taken by a member of the household and had
by some means or other become mixed with the sherbet. He then
withdrew his complaint.
This case shows once again how essential it is to take the utmost
care in the storage of drugs and medicine.
