Housing Repairs and Rents Act, 1954
Remarks made in the report for 1955 concerning the working of
this Act apply equally well to the year now under review.
The number of applications for certificates of disrepair were very
small, being no more than six, only one of which was subsequently
revoked. Of the six applications made, four only were granted, the
remaining two were refused.
Two further certificates were revoked, one having been issued in
1954 and the other in 1955.
Meat Inspection
Reference was made last year to the necessity for providing for
regular early morning inspections at a local meat wholesaler's
premises.
Arrangements were later made at the town where slaughtering

inspections in this Borough.
