those wholly or mainly used as a private dwelling, are required to be

Daily Guardian Scheme
The Daily Guardian Scheme, which was in operation prior to the
introduction of the National Health Service Act, has been continued
in the Borough, the purpose of the scheme being to augment, if
necessary, the Day Nursery Service, or to provide accommodation
where there is no day nursery in the district. The Daily Guardian is
subsidised by the Local Health Authority in respect of children
referred to her to the extent of 1/- for each full day attended, or 6d.
per half day.
During the year there were no Daily Guardians registered in the
Borough, but this is to be expected inasmuch as there is a Day Nursery
run by the Local Health Authority to serve the needs of the
district.
