Food Hygiene
Owing to the lack of support from traders and public alike towards
film shows, etc., the Public Health Committee agreed that it was futile to
arrange any further shows. The Sanitary Inspectors did, however, give
special attention to the condition of premises where food was handled and
stored. The businesses in the Borough dealing in food are not sufficiently
large to permit lectures to the staffs of individual shops, etc., consequently,
activities in this direction were not justified.
Rodent Control
The work entailed in connection with the above Act was carried out
steadily during the year. There was a little disorganisation caused by the
resignation of the rodent operative.
Fortunately, the Borough has had no bad or major infestations. The
majority of the treatments are carried out at private dwellings and only in
a few instances are business premises affected. The Council's tips are well
maitained and cause no anxiety to the Department.
Surface treatment:
The following table shows the result of the year's work.
