With the exception of one, all samples were classified by the Public
Analyst as being genuine.
One sample of margarine was reported to contain 16.5 per cent.
water or 0.5 per cent. in excess of the approved amount. This sample
reported to the Council and in view of the fact that the sample was
"informal" one, a repeat sample was obtained. The Analyst reported upon
this specimen as being genuine margarine.
Ice Cream Samples.
Eleven samples of ice-cream were purchased from manufacturers and
vendors. In the case of samples from vendors it was found that the product
was manufactured outside the Borough.
