Infantile Mortality.
The infantile mortality rate for the year was 31.6 per thousand. On
analysis it is found that out of 24 deaths occurring in, or transferred into
the Borough, 9 were due to lung conditions, 4 to meningitis, 4 to prematurity.
2birth injuries, 1 gastro enteritis, 4 other causes.
Fifteen deaths occurred within four weeks of birth.
