Western Sewage Works.—These works are capable of dealing
with 10,000—11,000 gallons daily, and the reports and
results of analyses of the samples of effluent taken by the Lea
Conservancy Board have been satisfactory. The sewage of a
portion of Buckhurst Hill is dealt with at these works.
Closet Accommodation.—There are no privies, the watercarriage
system being universal throughout the district.
Scavenging is done by contract, and is satisfactory. Rubbish
is deposited on a portion of vacant land in the district. Hardcore

burning of bricks.

galvanised, and covered.
