7. ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTION.
154 observations have been made or industrial plants in
the area under the Clean Air Act, 1956 to control the emission of
smoke from furnaces and incinerators, and 74 visits made to the
premises in connection with the installation of plant or incinerator
and to give advice to the operators.
The use of volumetric apparatus in the Public Health
Department to measure daily pollution of smoke and gaseous
contamination has been continued throughout the year, the results
are forwarded to the Warren Spring Laboratory of the Ministry of
Technology at the end of each month.
