VACCINATION AND UMMUNISATION SCHEMES:
1. B.C.G. Vaccination of school children:
This scheme for the 13/14 year age groups shows a decrease from
74.3% to 69.1% in the acceptance rate. The table below shows the results
for the Chigwell Urban District:-
Number of school children to whom B.C.G.
vaccination was offered: 1,165
Number accepted: 810 (69.1%)
Number given skin test and percentage: 766 (65.7%)
Number who gave positive reaction to
skin test: 57
Number who received B.C„G.: 666
Referrals to the Chest Clinic of pupils who gave a positive
reaction continued, but there were no significant findings.
