5. SHOPS ACT. 1950.
The principal contraventions found were the absence of
the prescribed notices to employees. 4 notices were served.
I+. PETROLEUM LICENCING AND INSPECTION.
The Council issued 58 licences to store Petroleum and 2
licences to store Carbide of Calcium.
62 inspections of these stores were made. In many cases it
was found that the licence conditions were not being complied with and
the licensees concerned were advised accordingly. 8 notices were
served.
5. HEATING APPLIANCES (FIREGUARDS) ACT. 1952.
4 visits were made. 2 defective fires were discovered
and forthwith removed from sale.
6. PET ANIMALS ACT, 1951.
3 premises were licensed during the year. 2 notices were
served and complied with.
