2. ENFORCEMENT OF STATUTES.
In many of the above businesses it was found that the
Food Hygiene Regulations and other statutory requirements were not
being complied with, and as the first step, the Public Health
Inspectors directed their efforts towards improving structural
conditions.
107 notices were served, many of them lengthy and
necessitating major alterations to premises. In the main, the food
traders have been co-operative and the majority of the notices
were complied with, resulting in improved hygienic conditions.
