with the provision of means of escape in case of fire in accordance
with paragraph 60 of the Public Health Act, 1936 and the Factories
Acts, 1937 and 1948. assistance in this work is given by the Essex
County Council Fire Brigade (Fire Prevention Branoh) and a
technical officer from the Engineer and Surveyor's Department of
this Authority to whom I am very grateful for the help given.
No certificates were issued during the year.

128 visits have been made.
(c) Shops Act:
95 visits were made.
Mr. D. Lloyd Jones attended the Shops Act Conference at
Blackpool in September.
