RIDING ESTABLISHMENT ACT, 1939
The annual report of the veterinary officer is as follows:—
"I have pleasure to report that the quarterly inspections of
Riding Establishments, under the control of your authority, were
carried out during the year ended 31st December, 1957.
The inspections, whilst being made in each quarter of the
year, were made at irregular periods and at varying times without
prior notice to the owners, special attention being given to
those times when the Riding Schools were anticipated to be
busy, such as during school holidays and on Saturdays and Sundays
in some instances.
Conditions were generally satisfactory although in one case
the management deteriorated to such an extent that one became
rather apprehensive, as the premises were under the control of
a minor. Fortunately, this was corrected towards the end of the
year when an experienced person took over the Riding School
and conditions materially improved as a result.
During the year under review, a new but small riding school
was opened at the Paddock Stables adjoining the Country Club
at Chigwell Row, but this has since closed.
Below is set out the Riding Schools operating during the year
