(a) Factories and Workplaces.
147 visits have been made.
Inspection is carried out by this Department in connection
with the provision of means of escape in case of fire in accordance
with paragraph 60 of the Public Health Act, 1936 and the
Factories Acts, 1937 and 1948. Assistance in this work is given
by the Essex County Council Fire Brigade (Fire Prevention
Branch) and a technical officer from the Engineer and Surveyor's
Department of this Authority to whom I am very grateful for
the help given.

341 visits have been made.
(c) Shops Act:
118 visits have been made.
