Salvage of paper and rags produced sales during the year
of 558 tons.
Kitchen waste collected from Schools and Industrial Canteens
has continued to be taken to Tottenham Plant for processing,
the total so disposed of during the year being 162 tons.
Road gullies (in adopted district roads) have been emptied
and re-sealed with clean water by machine three times during
the year by contract.
(iii) Sanitary Inspection of the Area

(iv) Verminous Premises
Four houses were found to be verminous during the year,
three of these were infested with bed bugs and the other with
fleas. Two houses were privately owned, one by the London
County Council at Debden and one by the Chigwell Council on
the River Estate.
