General Provision of the Health Services
in the District.
(a) Public Health Officers of the Local Authority (sec
page / ).
(b) Laboratory Facilities. A Ministry of Health
Laboratory operates at St. Margaret's Hospital, Epping. Milk
and ice cream samples are examined at The Counties Public
Health Laboratory, 66 Queen Victoria Street, London, S.W.I.
(c) Ambulance Facilities. The work done during the
year by the Council's Ambulance is given below. In June,
1946, a contract was entered into with Messrs. Brown's
Garage, Loughton, for the conveyance of sitting cases to
hospitals, maternity homes, etc. This arrangement has
worked satisfactorily.
