Infant Life Protection.
Under the Local Government Act, 1929, the functions of Part I of
the Childern Act 1908, formerly discharged by the Poor Law Authorities,
were transferred to this Council. This transfer occurred on 1st April, 1930,
and the Senior Health Visitor was appointed Infant Life Protection Officer.
Since that date the Act has been altered and implemented by the Children
and Young Persons Act, 1932.
Below are the statistical particulars for the year :—

All foster children, as soon as reasonably possible after arrival, are
subjected to a medical examination by the Medical Officer of Health.
